Out of my mouth

Proverbs 12: 14 From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things
as surely as the work of his hands rewards him.

In the Bible in Proverbs 12 verse 14 it says that from the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things, as surely as the work of his hands rewards him. Once again it is clear that the Bible gives a lot of weight to the concept of whatever we say makes a difference. We need to guard what ever comes out of our mouths because the Bible says that we have the power of death or life in our lips or in other words.

We are told that men shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God. That means that we need to take the words that God speaks to us very seriously, and we need to apply them to our lives. The Bible also teaches us that as a man thinks in his heart so is he. In other words what comes out of our mouth is an indication of what is treasured in our heart. The Bible says that we need to lay up our treasure in heaven where rust and moth cannot corrupt.
There is that old song which is very familiar to me which says something along the lines of let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my lips be acceptable unto thee oh God. If I remember correctly that actually comes from one of the Psalms. That is my prayer today that everything I say may be acceptable and that God would be blessed by what comes out of my mouth.
