Guard your heart

Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.

The heart is the wellspring of life. We are reminded here that it is wise to guard our hearts. What does that mean? It means carefully consider how you feel, how you process, how you choose to react to people and situations. We have a choice often as to what we will take away from an exchange with someone else. We can choose to take offense, feel criticised or put down, or we can choose to see the best intention and to take correction as well meaning input.

When we choose to become angry, that anger burns and eventually it becomes bitterness, and after time that produces death and sin and unforgiveness. The word of God tell us if we want o be forgiven by God we must forgive others. So we need to guard our hearts by guarding what we see, what we read, what we watch and what we listen to. All of these can be for the good or the bad of our heart and our wellbeing.

Choose wisely.
