Living in the land

Proverbs 2:21 For the upright will live in the land,
and the blameless will remain in it;

Living in the land – that’s where we all want to be. The land clearly refers to the promised land, the land where God commands a blessing, the place where God has selected for his people. And how do we get to make sure we have residence there? By being righteous.

The blameless will remain in the land. There is a difference between being upright which in my opinion is the way we choose to live (it is faith) and the blameless which is by the grace of God, it is what he does for us. By God’s grace he makes us blameless and this has nothing to do with what we have done or ever can do, it is entirely by the grace of God. We are told that we need to continue in our faith, the same we we came to believe. And we were saved by grace through faith and we need to continue in the same way.

1 Corinthians 1:8He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The above verse is from my devotion on March 9th
