Blessed out of my socks

Ephesians 1:3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
I am beginning to understand more and more that we have already been blessed (past tense) by God but that we have to use our faith to receive this blessing. You see in the same way that we come to God in salvation, which has been given freely by God, we have to receive the blessings. Just because God has given it does not mean we have received it. Some receive it and some do not. Just like salvation. The word says that God so loved the “world” that he gave his only Son. God wants everyone to come to know Him and to be saved from the penalty of sin. But just because God gave his Son, does not mean we all have been saved. No! God has given, but each person who wants to receive what God has given must use his or her faith to accept and receive the provision.
In the same way, we have been blessed in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ, but we do not all receive this automatically. We need to apply our faith to actually now receive this. How can one do that? Well, God lays down certain patterns by which we can receive blessing. One way to receive blessing is to delight in Gods word (see yesterdays post). If we delight in His laws we will be blessed. Delighting in His laws means you genuinely want to study the Bib le and genuinely want to read the scriptures, not because you think you have to but because you just love it.
Final note. What can we receive? Every spiritual blessing. Which part of every is so difficult to understand? Do you want faith, prophecy, word of knowledge, patience, prosperity, virtue etc? You already have been sent these from God, but you have to learn to receive. The key is the word of God.
