Where’s my mind at?
Jan 31
Romans 8:5 those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires….the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace…10But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.
The word teaches us that the battle is in the mind. Angus Buchan speaks of how we need to have times of quiet before God, but how often it is in these times of quiet that the devil comes and targets our mind. And it is in our minds that we struggle. Like it says in the last part of ch 7 “For in my inner being I delight in God’s law”, but it is in my mind that I struggle with issues of faith.
One thing I have learned though is that when the struggle comes and you start to doubt, you need to press on by repeating the things that built your faith in the first place, such as reading the word, listening to the word (faith comes by hearing) and by speaking out that which the Lord has shown me. Wommack speaks about praying for the sick when he was younger and how he prayed for his dad and his dad died and his grandmother died and a friend of his died. But he kept on going with his conviction and eventually he had the faith to raise the dead.
What I need to do is to be persistent and to be consistent. The trials and attacks do come to my mind and will come to my mind, but the word will remind me that though it dows not always feel that way, those who are in the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
