Delighting in his law
Feb 27
Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
Romans 7:22 obviously picks up on this psalm. In my inner being I delight in God’s law – that is what Paul says in Romans 7, and he is echoing this psalm. The result of this activity is that you will be blessed. You will be like a stream of living water, which yields its fruit in season.
Fruit will come in its season. Fruit is not there all the time, it comes in its season, but this psalm goes on to say that its leaf will not wither. So there is a constant flow of blessing, which is for those who delight in the law of God and who meditate on the laws day and night. The flow of Gods blessing is not up to God, it is up to us. It is as though the blessing valve is turned on in heaven all the time, but we don’t always receive the blessing because we are hindering the blessing. If we want to flow and move in the blessings of God we need to do the things that the word tells us will produce blessing. It is not that hard to figure out.
In fact the blessing is continual prosperity. The word says in vs 3 that whatever he does prospers. Whatever … not just in some things. So if you want to walk in the constant flow of the blessing of God and you want everything you do to prosper, then just do these things:
-
do not take council with sinners or walk like the wicked people do
-
delight in Gods word
-
meditate often on the word
ok, so now we know
