Accountability
Feb 10
As leaders we need to be accountable to each other. That sometimes means making the hard calls and telling each other when it is not going so good. There may be times when we don’t want to cause waves because it is easier to maintain silence. But there is also a time to be bold and show bold leadership, and that may mean telling a few hard truths. Jesus was bold and when he saw the money changers in the temple he went after them with a whip.
Sometimes we need to get a bit of a wake up call so that we are galvanised to action. This week has been one of those weeks, where I felt I had to take on an issue. Did I handle it right? Who knows, what would have been best, but one thing is for sure, I am glad I did.
Paul says that he struggles for the Colossian church with all the energy God gives him to educate them and to admonish them. Today I did some admonishing, and often it does not go down that well, but hopefully it is right in God’s eyes.
