Romans 6:1What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?

A question that immature / baby Christians sometimes ask, is this: “If we live under grace and God has already forgiven our sins, why can we not just sin anyway, because we have already been forgiven anyway. If we just confess it, then we will be cleansed from that sin?”

Paul is addressing that very question right here. In this chapter Paul is really explaining how when we come to Christ, we are changed. The transforming power of a rebirth is what makes Christianity real. The 16 year old girl next door, came to know God in December. Her life has changed so radically – it cannot be anything but God. For 6 years we invited her to church weekly, and she almost always said she would think about it and maybe actually come this week, but week after week she never came. In fact she came to church only once in 6 years. Then she went on camp in December and gave her life to Christ and now she is phoning us at 7:30am on Sunday to check what time we are leaving. She has now changed in regards to sin and she feels really bad whenever she lets God down.

Oh that God would change is so much that we become slaves to righteousness as Paul says.
