1 Kings 1: 1 When King David was old and well advanced in years, he could not keep warm even when they put covers over him.
David was once the young fighter who killed Goliath, the philistine to save the army of Israel. He was the king who fought battles and who slew the enemy. It was written about him that he killed tens of thousands. But eventually he grew old and tired and at night he could not keep warm. So his servants decided they needed to find a young virgin to keep him warm at night and they searched the land for the most beautiful virgin and they found Abishag (1 Kings 1).
I am reminded that we all grow older and that whilst the body becomes weaker we should be growing stronger in the faith. In the spiritual world, Satan must fear a room full of grey haired bible believing Christians, because they have been around the block and they have developed their faith.
So let me press on and grow in my faith, that whilst I grow physically older and maybe weaker, I will become a spiritual giant. I may not warm up that easily under the covers at night, but Satan beware!
