I was watching a sermon by Jesse Du Plantis today where he was discussing how we need to behave as Christians so that we do not show Christ in a bad light. He gives an example of how he knows he is in the public eye whenever they go out. He was at a restaurant one night with his wife and on arrival they had to wait for their table. He went to the gents and on the way back he saw his wife waiting for him at the bar. She signalled for him to come over, but he signalled to her instead to come and stand with him in a far less convenient waiting area.
His point was that whilst he could easily have waited by the bar sipping a soda, someone else may look at him and say “ooh look at the pastor at the bar”. He said that we must remember that for some people the only Jesus they will ever see is the Jesus in you and me.
Good one to remember!
