Full of grace and truth
Apr 16
John 1: 14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Oh what it must have been like to see his glory. To have been one of the disciples who were there to see him still the storm, to turn the water into wine. I wonder what was going in their heads as they traveled with Jesus, and watched him, so full of grace and truth.
John is careful to start this chapter with establishing Jesus as the word, from God, who is God and who was with God and who became human and lived among them, and he for one witnessed first hand the light and the glory of this magnificent person, Jesus. John says that the glory that they saw was the glory of the one and only, the only begotten son of God. Again, he emphasises that he came from the father.
But what I love is this part – full of grace and truth. That is a perfect description of Jesus. Grace first and truth. I love him.
