Just handle the money

Proverbs 13:3 He who guards his lips guards his life

Last night I was so fortunate to be at church to see some of our youth in the church put on an amazing production. It was one of the most moving and memorable pieces I’ve ever seen an almost everyone in the church was brought to tears. If we can learn some of the truths of the Bible at a very early age, we will save ourselves a lot of heartache as we grow up.

In the book of Proverbs we find many of these truths, and right here in chapter 13 we read about how we should guard our lips because the words we say will determine the outcome of our life.

11 Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow.

The verse about says that dishonest money dwindles away that he gathers many little by little makes it grow. The Bible teaches so much about how to get money and how to make money grow. In fact, the Bible speaks more about money than about faith. This verse teaches us that the process of gaining wealth is to accumulate money slowly over time and making it rather than trying to hit the jackpot or some kind of get rich quick scheme.

22 A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children.

Continuing with the theme of money, verse 22 tells us that a good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children. This means that he must invest wisely and that we must not consume all our income on our own lusts. We need to remember that life is about laying up for the future and for future generations. The selfish person thinks only of himself and will have the first philosophy which is eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die. The wise person however, pull the lever behind an inheritance not only for his children, but for his grandchildren.
